Baldness is medically termed as alopecia and the best treatment for baldness is still an area of research but there are many preventive and general methods and treatments followed for baldness.

The most significant indication of occurrence of baldness is progressive hair-thinning. So when the hair thins consistently the scalp becomes visible contributing towards baldness. Thus if the hair loss rate exceed hair replacement rate there is greater chance of getting baldness. It is therefore essential to take steps either to lower hair loss rate or make it equal to hair replacement rate which would prevent baldness.

There is no particular medicine or treatment for treating badness. But a medication named as Regaine or minoxidil which is generally used for heart disease was found to contribute a lot towards hair growth and helps in treating baldness. This may be possible because it increases the blood flow in hair follicles. But individual with heart disease must not use this medication for treating badness without consulting experts. Also if one experience irritation of the scalp while using this medication for treating baldness the medication must be avoided and experts must be consulted immediately.

Androgenetic alopecia is the medical term for male pattern baldness. There are many quality products for treating baldness and the ingredients in these quality products helps to improve the thickness and texture of existing hair and also prevents further hair loss. This helps in preventing baldness. Recent research did by University of Pennsylvania School of medicine create a new hope for baldness treatment. This broke the previous belief of regeneration hair follicles is not possible.
